"We think about it a lot and talk about it a lot going forward. As parents it became something important to us and something that we experienced for the first time," Gigi Hadid said, quoted by People, Tuesday (15/6/2021).
Gigi Hadid explained that she and Zayn Malik were the first generation to unite as a mixed-race couple in their family.
"We were the first generation of mixed race and then this was my first experience," said Gigi Hadid.
Gigi Hadid's father, Mohammad Hadid, is Palestinian and her mother, Yalonda, is of Dutch descent.
Meanwhile, Zayn's father, Yaser Malik has British-Pakistani blood and his mother, Trisha Malik of English and Irish descent.
This makes their extended family have a unique variety of cultures. Gigi also predicts that her child will grow up with a happy feeling that is rich in various ethnic cultures.
