"I'm still in shock that no one was pushed over the edge!" On Instagram, Garth wrote about their boat trip.
During a boating excursion, Jennie Garth and Peter Facinelli established their friendship.
Facinelli, 50, organized a boat with their three daughters, Luca, 27, Lola, 21, and Fiona, 17, a week after Garth, 52, said on her I Choose Me podcast that the former couple, who got married in 2001 but split in 2012, are "officially friends now."
The Beverly Hills, 90210 alumnus shared some pictures from the outing and explained how it came to be in an Instagram post posted on Sunday, July 7.
She wrote in the caption, "So, if you’ve heard this weeks I Choose Me podcast update you’ll know that there have been some BIG changes since my ex, Peter Facinelli, and I sat down to discuss all things co-parenting, divorce, and bringing significant others into our children's lives on the podcast."
Garth proceeded to say that when she chose to have the extreme discussion, she "had trusted that it would bring a few positive changes into both our families lives, however I really didn't figure we would arrive at the point we're at now!"
She continued, "We had a day out with the family." My heart was so full when I saw the girls happy on that beautiful day!
The actress also wrote, "We missed you hubs," a nod to her husband Dave Abrams, and jokingly said, "I’m still in shock that nobody was pushed overboard! 🤣 #success.”
"Gratitude for arranging it @peterfacinelli," she finished up with a few hashtags: "# IChooseMe #family #reunited #lifeafterdivorce."
Garth foreshadowed the trip in a five-minute July 1 episode of I Pick Me, sharing that she and the Dusk entertainer have been warming back dependent upon one another and blending their families, which incorporate their girls as well as Facinelli's child, Jack, 1, whom he imparts to life partner Lily Anne Harrison.
She made fun of Facinelli by saying, "He invited me to his son Jack's christening, and this week — get ready for it — we are all gonna be going on a boat together with the whole family," before adding, "Whether we push each other overboard, that's still TBD."
The actress talked more about how, after a time of tension following their divorce, she and Facinelli have formed a friendship in the same episode.
She stated, "He even unblocked me from Instagram." I've been hindered on his socials for such a long time that I [stopped] caring quite a while back. Yet, I'm unblocked now, you all. That is major news."
The former couple's candid two-part podcast conversation on Garth's podcast last month led to their newfound friendship. In it, they talked about the ups and downs of co-parenting, sharing custody of their children, and integrating their new partners into their lives.
Talking about Abrams and his own accomplice, Harrison, in the episode, Facinelli said, "I truly see it like, 'Goodness, they're unbelievably lucky to have had now these stepparents that they've become more acquainted with, that have added to their characters, that they've developed through them.'
