The mother of two stars in the brand’s “Night Night Club” campaign celebrating Advanced Night Repair and introducing two new nighttime treatments
Nicole Richie burst onto the scene in the 2000s, partying late into the night in designer duds at the most exclusive spots with her famous friends (hi, Paris Hilton!). But these days, the 44-year-old mother of daughter Harlow, 16, and son Sparrow, 14, prefers a nighttime skincare routine and early nights to bottle service and dance music.
Richie embraces that idea in Estée Lauder’s “Night Night Club” campaign, which celebrates the brand’s best-selling serum, Advanced Night Repair, and introduces Revitalizing Supreme+ Night Power Bounce Creme and Advanced Night Repair Overnight Treatment.
"I was immediately drawn to it," Richie tells PEOPLE of joining the iconic brand. "The biggest thing for me with this Supreme Bounce Creme is that it's so hydrating. You put it on before you go to bed and when you wake up, your skin is so hydrated."
In the campaign video, Richie hears a knock on her door, and as two people enter carrying glittery bottle cases — a nightclub staple — she reveals: "We love the glow-up moment, I just never go out anymore."
She learns: "This is the new bottle service." In fact, Esteé Lauder is a leader in the science of nighttime skin care, having dedicated more than 40 years to research.
After applying the products, and taking a quick nap, Richie shows off her gorgeous skin. "My Advanced Night Repair really kicked in last night," she says. "I mean, look at me! Is this 2007 again?"

Richie calls the campaign "honest" and "authentic to me." The campaign also brings back memories of getting ready with her mother, singer Brenda Harvey Richie.
"My mom was my first beauty inspiration," the House of Harlow founder says.
"I would sit in her dressing room and watch her get ready. She had a big bathtub and I would sit in her empty bathtub and watch her do her skincare and makeup, and Estée Lauder was one of the brands that I really looked up to. And it's been on my vanity for a long time."

Richie's typical bedtime routine consists of washing her face and applying a night cream around 7:00 or 8:00 p.m. "just to let it all sink in," she says.
“Sometimes I’ll put a coconut oil mask on my hair, or Pureology has a great Hydrate mask that I use sometimes, and I’ll braid my hair, go downstairs and watch TV with my dogs.” (She, her dogs, and husband Joel Madden are into the survival show Alone lately.)
Richie completes her bedtime routine by taking Calm magnesium powder, rubbing lavender oil on her feet, and keeping a quartz crystal next to her bed. “Clear quartz is a form of self-love,” she explains.
“For me, it’s a crystal that I naturally connect with. I think choosing a crystal is a very personal thing. For me, clear quartz feels very pure and very clean — something I like to have next to my head while I sleep.”
Richie starts her nighttime routine early, as she typically starts her day at 5:00 a.m.
“I wake up [at that time] so I don’t have to get up and get ready,” Richie explains. “Me time is important for my day, for my mindset. I tend to read for about 30 or 45 minutes, sometimes I make coffee, sometimes I write whatever’s on my mind. I really try not to look at my phone or answer any emails or texts. I really enjoy my quiet time and I want to ground myself before I go about my day.”

While Richie’s campaign is launching, she’s also been hard at work on The Simple Life , which is returning for a reunion special on Peacock.
“We started filming this week and we’re having so much fun,” Richie said of working with Hilton, 43. “We spend our days laughing, which is really great.”/people.com
