Choky Sitohang had a chance to taste the journalist profession before entering the world of emcees. He lived the profession for three years, from 2002 to 2005.
The 37-year-old man claimed to be trapped into the world of journalists. Initially, Choky Sitohang applied for a job as an emcee at a television station. However, he was instead positioned as a reporter.
"I applied to the TV station as a presenter because I wanted to be a presenter, eh the recipient even went to the editor how to connect there," said Choky Sitohang when met on Trans TV, Jalan Kapten Tendean, South Jakarta, Tuesday (5/19/2020 ).
"Then my telephone editor said I was looking for a presenter and told me to come to Jakarta for an interview. Six times back and forth between Bandung and Jakarta finally received," he continued.
After entering the office for the first time, Choky Sitohang was confused because he suddenly got a coverage assignment. He was asked to cover an incident at Tebet Police Station, South Jakarta.
"At first I was confused how I covered it. Then, when I returned from the scene, I came to the office with a recording when I was told to make the news, I thought, really, I'm the presenter, I'm confused," he said.
Long story short, Choky Sitohang who was confused and felt trapped finally understood the intention of the employer. As a result, the profession was not lived up to three years.
"Finally, I just found out that the presenter in question is a news presenter, right? That is also a reporter, TV journalist jumps into the field too. It was trapped that I was 3 years a journalist," concluded Choky Sitohang. (hnh / imk)
